free should be worth paying for ... [🐝U]

Let’s talk about the freebies in your business.

Chances are you’ve heard “give away your best stuff”
or at least stuff that has value.

Why would you give away stuff you can get paid for?

It’s your first impression
& you only ever get one of those
So why not make it a great one?

That sets a standard
If your free stuff is better than someone else’s paid stuff, potential clients wonder,
“if this is free
how much better is the paid stuff?”

All that value builds trust
Something you need before anyone gives you money
So it’s also making “selling” a lot easier

That all sounds good
 but you’re thinking

“if I give away too much, they won’t need to buy from me”
or
“I spent a lot of time & money learning this. I should get paid for it”
or
“big-name creators can afford to give value away but I can’t”

I thought all the same things (& more) when I got started.
& I still have some of those objections living rent-free in my brain

Here’s some real-world examples of what that looks like

From one extreme
 “everything”

everything but the kitchen sink

Alex Hormozi’s next book launch (#3 in his $100M book series) called $100M Money Models happens August 16th
& it’s safe to say he’s throwing everything & the kitchen sink at his freebies

A webinar for the $100M Money Models includes training on the models & when you attend live, there’s also access to a “special project” he’s been working on for 4 years

Given his other books brought in over 1 Million people signing up

So what is a money model & why should you care?

A money model gets more customers to spend more money, faster, again & again.
A money model is what takes you from struggling to scaling.

& if you don’t have many clients
yet

You can catch up on the other books ($100M Offers & $100M Leads)
 also free:
- listen to the book through The Game podcast (you gotta dig a bit through your platform of choice)
- watch the video training on Acquisition.com (no email opt-in)

Why would he do all that for free?

You are not Alex’s ideal client
 not yet anyway.
& he’s pretty transparent about it.

He shares all this information with you, hoping you'll implement & scale to where you are his ideal client so you can pay him!

& by helping you achieve your future goals, he’s also showing his ideal client what he can do for them today.

on the other “bare bones” extreme

The team at The 1440 have a world’s worth of news every day to sift through & strip off opinion so it’s just the facts.

There’s no paid option
& there’s no “up-sell” into something else

“Just the facts, ma’am. Just the facts.” - Joe Friday (Dragnet)

They’re spending a lot of time & money learning the facts.

How do they make their money?

Like the “old-school” newspapers, they include ads.
But these ads promote companies on brand
It’s not just about “how much can I get for the space”

Your free stuff worth paying for isn’t going to be the extremes. It’s going to fall somewhere in the middle
 for now.

Because that 3rd objection

“big-name creators can afford to give value away but I can’t”

is one of the most valid.

They have teams, bigger bank accounts, & a stock pile of examples as they grew.

You’re just getting started in comparison
& you feel like you’re competing with something they didn’t have to

Everyone’s talking about how AI makes all this easier so they don’t need me, right?

Bottom line
 AI is a tool.

& if you’ve spent any time talking to me, you’ve probably heard me go off on a mini-TEDx Talk on “the tech needs to be last, never first”

You need that strategy in place.
& there needs to be a plan
Then you choose the best tech option to make things more effective & efficient.

Knowing how & when to use it makes things easier.
AI isn’t going to replace you.
It’s going to help you.

TL;DR

Your free stuff should be worth paying for because:
- It’s your first impression that sets a standard
- & all that value builds trust so it’s also making “selling” a lot easier

But your mind’s racing with objections like:
1. “if I give away too much, they won’t need to buy from me”
2. “I spent a lot of time & money learning this. I should get paid for it”
3. “big-name creators can afford to give value away but I can’t”

Alex Hormozi is a great example of the good that comes from giving “too much” away
Here’s the link to register & see it in action with his $100M Money Models book launch August 16th
& you have time to catch up on the other 2 books ($100M Offers & $100M Leads) also free (& no opt-in needed) through his website Acquisition.com

You don’t need to “give it all away”
& you don’t need to “know it all”
But knowing enough about which tech tool to use & when helps you create more value through your “freebies”.

You can help your audience by being just 1 step ahead of where they are now.
& even if you’re at the same place, you can still help by being objective & freeing up their time so they can work ON the business instead of IN it.

Do you feel a bit better about “giving away your best stuff”?
Has this given you ideas on what you can do to give value, show your expertise, & make “selling” easier?

Make it a great “value-filled“ week!
